December 11 Newsletter

Mrs. Bali’s First Grade News
December 11, 2015

Review of our week:
We have been doing some more fun Christmas things.  We  filled out an application to be one of Santa’s Elves.  In math we started Chapter 5, which is how addition and subtraction are related.

Reading:
I know this time of year gets really busy, but it is some important that you make sure your child keeps reading the next couple of weeks. I really need you as parents to help your child with their reading, so they can make the progress they need to. At this point they should be doing most of that 20 minutes of reading.  If you would like some extra books for your child to read on their independent reading level, please let me know.

December 4 Newsletter

Mrs. Bali’s First Grade News
December 4, 2015

Review of our week:
We have been doing some fun Christmas things.  In math we took our Chapter 4 test and introduced Chapter 5.    For writing we wrote letters to Santa and filled out an application to be an elf.

Homework:
I know this time of year is very busy.  Remember to have your child keep reading.  Please encourage your child to fill out a tree right after they are finished reading, so you don’t have to try and remember at the end of the month how many days they read.   I am sending home a couple of math worksheet for homework.  They are due back by next Friday.

FYI:
* I only have 1 mom coming in to help with the Gingerbread Houses.  If you would like to come, we could use the help.  Also, if you would like to donate something, please have it here by Thursday the 10th.
