Review of our week:

         In math we have been working on measurement and telling time.  This is a great thing you can work on at home.  For telling time we only do to the hour and half hour.  We started a new unit on American Explorers.

Teacher Requests:

         Next Monday the forms for teacher requests will be available on the school webpage and in front of the office.  They are due April 12 and will not be excepted after this date.

Mrs. Bali’s First Grade News

Review of our week:

         In math we are still working on double digit addition and subtraction.  I have also been doing some assessing. I will send progress reports next week. We also started a story about How to Catch a Leprechaun. 

Miss S has been doing a great unit on the earth and different kinds of rocks.  Each child needs to find a rock and bring it to school on Wednesday.  It needs to be a rock they find, not a rock they already have.  She read a book that told 10 rules for finding a rock.  It needs to fit in their hand.  We will be doing some really fun things with the rocks.

Play:

         On Friday, March 15, we will be going to see Newsies at the Randall Jones Theatre at SUU.  We will be walking, please make sure your child wears good walking shoes. We will leave the school at 9:15, please make sure your child is here on time. We do have to pay $1 for the tickets.  Please have your child return the permission slip and $1 on Wednesday.

FYI’s:

* Library on Tuesday, please make sure your child has their books.

* There were a few of you who talked about doing a Family Fun, but didn’t schedule one.  If you would like to still do one, please get with me so we can schedule a time.
